Saturday, 31 August 2024

About the Event...

Join us for a six course dinner by adventurer chef Mike Keen, combining fire and local produce to create a Fire Inspired Feast to round off this summer’s chef collaborations. Come and enjoy a relaxed evening in the Fire and Feast Tipi beginning with aSmokey Mule Gin Cocktail courtesy of Fisher’s Gin, Aldeburgh, followed by a sit down three course fire inspired dinner cooked by Mike. As with all our special chef events some elements may be served on sharing platters.

Introducing Mike Keen:

Mike, former chef-patron at The Brewery Tap and Freston Boot, now spends much of his time developing and promoting a more sustainable food future. His most recent adventures to Greenland saw him spend three months kayaking in Artic waters and exploring the traditional diet of the Inuit, which has led to a particular interest in fermented foods. His food is delicious, and his adventures are fascinating. It should be a memorable evening. @eatyourenvironment

Introducing Fishers Gin: Distilled overlooking Aldeburgh’s iconic shingle beach and hand crafted using only the finest selection of local wild herbs and coastal botanicals. Fishers’ botanicals are foraged between the North Sea and the salt marshes of the River Alde. Their collection of Gins uniquely captures the experience and flavours of the Suffolk coast.

A selection of wine, beer and soft drinks, teas and coffee will be available to purchase on the evening. Please note this event will be held in the Fire and Feast Tipi out of doors. We hope it will be a wonderful early summer evening, but we can't guarantee it and it could get a little chilly, so come dressed with some warm layers for later in the evening. This event will go ahead unless weather conditions are extreme.
