About the Event...

Suffolk is often described as a foodie haven so what better way to spend an evening than exploring some of the best produce the county has to offer in the company of its creators? Featuring charcuterie from Suffolk Salami Company - Lane Farm, cold pressed rapeseed oils from Hill farm, free range poultry from Sutton Hoo Chicken, and craft chocolate from Pump Street paired with many other local ingredients, including Suffolk asparagus and berries.

Following a welcome hedgerow cocktail in our potager garden, guests will be treated to a guided charcuterie tasting led by Ian Whitehead, the inspiration behind Suffolk Salami Company at Lane Farm, Brundish. Ian will guide us through his personally curated charcuterie board, including one or two more unusual creations.

Sam and Clare Fairs from Hill Farm Oils at Heveningham will introduce the second course which is inspired by their range of infused cold pressed rapeseed oils, paired with Suffolk asparagus.

Next we travel south to meet the team from Sutton Hoo Chicken, hearing a

little of the story behind their passion to grow the best possible slow-reared free range chicken, before sampling their wares as part of the main course.

Pump Street Chocolate will be the star of the sweet course and a prelude to a

guided chocolate tasting journey led by Diane Wingfield, from Pump Street Chocolate near Woodbridge to conclude our exploration of the flavours of east Suffolk.

Ticket price includes a welcome cocktail, four course supper and chocolate

tasting. A selection of wine, beer, cocktails, soft drinks, teas and coffees will be available to purchase on the evening. As with all our events, guests are welcome to bring their own wine, however we ask that you do not bring your own soft drinks.

Please note this event will be held in the Fire and Feast Tipi out of doors. We hope it will be a wonderful summer evening, but we can't guarantee it and it could get a little chilly, so come dressed with some warm layers for later in the evening. This event will go ahead unless weather conditions are extreme.

Introducing our Producers…..

Suffolk Salami Company

Sister company to Lane Farm, beloved for their delicious bacon and sausages, Suffolk Salami Company is run by the husband and wife team Ian and Sue Whitehead together with their daughters Rebecca and Sarah. The emphasis is on using the finest ingredients, carefully selected herbs and spices, and local high welfare pork to create award winning British charcuterie.

Hill Farm Oils

The Fairs family have farmed in Suffolk since 1967. In 2004 they became the first farm in the UK to grow, press and bottle their own cold pressed rapeseed oil. People are now hooked on its nutty flavour, versatility in the kitchen as well as its nutritional benefits.

Sutton Hoo Chicken

The story of Sutton Hoo Chicken began in 1994 when Charles & Belinda Nash set out on a mission to rear truly free range chicken in the Suffolk countryside they both loved. Despite Charles’ passing in 2009, Belinda and Charles’ godson, Will, continue to carry on the couple’s lifelong dream, growing the chickens traditionally, for longer and free range on Suffolk meadows. The traditional breed used is a slower growing chicken; grown on average for 10 weeks and 25% longer than standard free-range chickens.

Pump Street Chocolate

Pump Street Chocolate is about real craft chocolate, made by hand from bean to bar using traditional methods, ethical sourcing, and all natural ingredients. Pump Street was founded in 2010 by father and daughter team Chris and Joanna Brennan. It is the result of Chris’ years developing his skills as a self- taught baker and later chocolate maker, and Joanna’s enthusiasm for all things gourmande.
