Supper and Stargazing

Have you ever looked up into our beautiful starry Suffolk skies and wanted to know more - if so this is the event for you. Join us for a warming three course supper with stargazing and talks led by DASH Astro in the cosy tipi. Guests will have a choice of two dishes for each course, including vegetarian options using local produce, prepared by the Fire and Feast Team.

The evening will begin with a complimentary cocktail, a selection of wine, beer and soft drinks, teas and coffee will be available to purchase on the evening.

After supper DASH Astro will open your eyes to the night skies with a mix of observing, displays and talks. Exact activities will depend on the weather / cloud cover and this event will go ahead regardless of visibility. Subject to weather there will be opportunities to see constellations, stars, nebulae, planets, near and far off galaxies and hopefully plenty of shooting stars. A selection of talks will cover topics such as: What we can see in our Night Sky, Astrophotography for Beginners, Life on other planets, The Stars Planets and Mythology. The balance of talks and observing will depend on weather conditions, with more observing if weather/cloud cover permit.

DASH Astro is an astronomy society based under the dark skies of the North Suffolk coast. Operating since Midsummer 2013 they have built up a group of likeminded members who believe in sharing their passion for astronomy.

Please note this event will be held in the Fire and Feast Tipi which we aim to keep as cosy as possible however we still recommend you come with some warm layers for stargazing later in the evening.
